August 15, 2011 OK, since I promised to start my BLOG today, I better start writing. My TUMBLR account is being worked on by the world-renowned design artist David Stepen. Not sure how that's goining to work....we're meeting tomorrow night. For now, I'll say that it's really ironic that, on the last day I worked in my Dad's law firm, on April 30, 2003, I received my May 2003 edition of MIX Magazine. The front cover read: "IS THE MUSIC BUSINESS IS DEAD!" I had worked there for 17 years, while running my music business part-time. Was this really such a good idea? What was I thinking? Well, 8+ years later, we're still here! Technology has forever changed the face of the recording world but there is still a real need for real studios to compliment all the great work that is coming out of everyone's personal studios.........More Will Be Revealed, I'm sure. For now, it's late, I'm tired and I'm off to bed....... In Loving Service I remain- Ken *************** |
December 15, 2011 I'm back.......This blogging thing is harder than I thought. Too many other things to do but I will make an effort to link this to our Social Media Networks and maybe that will make it easier. First question, "Should I create a Facebook page?" I don't do Facebook. I'm just not into all that stuff. But, it could help give our business more visibility, so I'm thinking about it. Twitter, yes. LinkedIn, yes, YouTube, yes, Facebook, no, at least not yet. More later, for now, it's time to relax with an Esteban Carreras Double Corona Habano Maduro and Volume 1 of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. In Loving Service I remain- Ken

GREED
Well. I'm back to writing. I feel my "blog" will begin to take on a new direction. With all of the problems we are facing in our society, in our Country and around the world, none is more devastating and all-consuming than GREED.
GREED rears its ugly head in every place we look, big and small. The "big picture" and the "little picture" illustrate this stark reality. For the intellectual, the micro cosmos and macro cosmos are merely firm reminders of GREED rearing it's ugly head. Just think for a moment.
GREED is everywhere. It is fueled by selfishness. It is fueled by self-centeredness. Some refer to it as "desire," while others refer to it as "drive." By any name you chose, GREED has torn our World into little pieces, leaving all of us to scramble for any crumb we can grab and hold onto.
Greed always starts with "I WANT." It is often followed by "I DESERVE." Others say "IT IS MY RIGHT," "I'M ENTITLED TO THIS." or "I'VE EARNED THIS." Really? .....Take a closer look at where that has gotten us collectively.
The purpose of writing this is to try and get people to start to THINK FOR THEMSELVES. We don't do much of that any more. The media, politicians, technology etc.....all do that for us. We just read it, hear it etc..on the Internet or wherever and believe whatever is being fed to us to be a fact. THINK FOR YOURSELF.
In the movie, Wall Street Money Never Sleeps, Michael Douglas said, " "Greed is good. Now it seems it's legal. Because everyone is drinking the same Kool Aid."
I think that if you examine most situations and ask "how does GREED play a role in this?" you would find it is the culprit behind so many of these problems troubling us worldwide.
When is it time to say, "enough is enough." When will we begin to actually think for ourselves? More importantly, how long will we stand by idly and complain instead of working on real-life ways to resolve the dilemmas we face, big and small, without allowing GREED to govern our every move?
I'm not trying to preach. I'm not above any of this - I am as selfish and greedy as anyone and am ashamed for it. No one is probably ever going to read this, so I am probably writing this for myself. I am not that important and just another of the many lunatics that have access to a blog. Since that's the case, I will try to move forward with a new perspective on things and share where I can, when I can, about my silly little ideas.....
In Loving Service I Remain,
Ken
